What changes the price
- The first visit: a deep clean usually costs 1.5 to 2 times the regular rate because it takes longer.
- Bathrooms, square footage and how often you book: weekly and every-other-week clients get lower per-visit prices.
- Pets, which mean more hair and more time.
- Add-ons priced separately: inside the oven and fridge, inside cabinets, windows, carpet shampoo.
- Independent cleaners vs. agencies: agencies charge more but handle insurance, backups and vetting.

How we got these numbers
Every city figure comes from our house cleaning cost guide for that city, which lists its sources at the bottom: industry price surveys and local companies’ published rates. The typical price is the middle of the cities’ low ends to the middle of their high ends, rounded. A job only counts cities that price it the same way, and a city with no figure for a job shows a dash. These are benchmarks, not quotes: what you pay depends on the job, and pros’ quotes vary.
